Granby Park Launch Night!

Ah thursday evening!! The excitement of seeing so may people outside was unreal.

Opening the gates and myself and Karla (community engagement manager) welcomed the sea of people eagerly awaiting to come inside.

Everyone who has been involved with this should be incredibly proud of the work they have put into this. From all the volunteers to the Upstart team, again congratulations!

One truly special encounter myself and Karla had, was meeting the Moore sisters.

They told us they had lived in Dominick Street during their childhood and were  "delighted to be able to come to Granby Park"

So touching to see them there, and made my day to see how enthusiastic they were about Granby park.

I had a chance to walk around the park ( when I was off gate duty ;). I was keen to try out the food.

So naturally  the Granby grazer was my first stop,  where along the way I bumped into the lovely clara traynor (fund-it co - ordinator). Tried some tasty canapés served on some delicious servings of bread drizzled with olive oil.

When you get a chance to pop by try out their coffee too, which is served in front of you on a seriously cool wooden panel.

Also had a chance to see some of events on the night. The slam poetry in the amphitheatre was great too see, the energy they had on stage really brought the amphitheatre to life.

Some belly dancing form the Zorryana group was also on show in the polly tunnel section, where they gave a stunning performance.

The last even was a stunning vocal performance from the Line Up choir, singing gorgeous renditions of some well know hits from popular bands like MGMT and Daft Punk. Went down a real success with everyone in the park!

How was your first trip to Granby? Tell me how you got on!
